Brittney’s heart (and finger) gained a whole bunch of sparkles last night!! Last week I got a phone call from Chris, who asked if I could photograph his surprise proposal… to which I replied of course! His plan was to take her back to their very first date at the Chill Winston – to the very same table – and ask the big question! I sat across from them with a friend blending into the crowd… watching them eat dinner and waiting for the ‘cue’ (Chris was to drop his napkin right before the big moment).
As his cocktail napkin hit the floor I whipped out the camera and started snapping as he professed his love and got down on one knee, and the fellow restaurant dwellers clapped in celebration. So, so sweet to watch! We posed a few photos to capture the moment, and then they were on their way… riding off into the Vancouver rain as a newly engaged couple.
Congratulations Chris and Brittney! It was so fun to capture your special moment! Enjoy all the celebrations to come!
Thank you to my friend Adriana for being there to help me blend in (I should have snapped a photo of her too!). And I have to give some credit to the unsung hero of this photoshoot…. my Nikon D750, which allows me to shoot in candle-lit settings without a flash (a flash would have definitely killed the moment). Without having upgraded my camera last year, stealth shoots like this in dark settings would be near impossible. Bravo, Nikon!
Enjoy the photos – I hope they bring a smile to your face!
