In case you haven’t noticed, my blog has been a bit abandoned and neglected lately. I solemnly swear this isn’t due to laziness! My life in July has taken a turn for the busy, and I might not be popular for saying this but I haven’t complained much about Vancouver’s unfortunate weather. I’ve been (secretly) happy that my busy life hasn’t been causing me to miss out on amazing beach days, and other fun summer’ish activities like bike riding, hiking, water balloon fights, or running through the sprinkler for six hours straight until the lawn is completely flooded and muddy.
In addition to spending my weekends second shooting weddings, my sister’s wedding has somehow managed to sneak up on us. So, I’ve been living in a big bubble of 24 hour weddings. Planning and being a part of them, photographing them, looking at photos of them, reading about them, talking about them, dreaming about them. With only two days left in the grand countdown, there are plenty of little details to sort out. Last night was the wedding rehearsal. After two run throughs, I think we have everything down pat (walk slow, pause at the alter for ‘one hippopotamus’, smile, keeps your eyes on the bride, got it). The rehearsal was, of course, followed by a traditional get together, also known as the rehearsal dinner. This was a nice time to get together, relax (kind of), and just enjoy the occasion. The bride and groom also presented the wedding party with gifts. So exciting. As a first time wedding party member, I had almost forgotten about this little bit of protocol! My first time getting real Tiffany’s and I didn’t even see it coming! We were all spoiled, spoiled, spoiled, they’re a very generous couple! :)
I can’t wait to see everything come together on Monday! It’s going to be a beautiful day!
