Last night I was treated to an evening at the Vancouver Canadians game. Did you know they used to be called the Canadian Mounties? (…something I learned at the game) It was the great night for the baseball park. At Nat Bailey the sun sets perfectly off to one side of the outfield and on a clear August night it’s pretty spectacular. For me it’s the best part. Not every game will have you on the edge of your seat… but to top off a nice sunset the Canadians played a really exciting game! They pulled off a win against the Tri City Dust Devils (one of the top teams in the whole league). Well, I’m not sure if Tri City really is one of the top teams in the league, but I over heard someone say that, and for the purposes of this blog post, I believe it… wholeheartedly. By the time we ate a hot dog, did the wave, sang ‘Take Me out to the Ball Game’, and watched the groundskeepers dance to Nsync’s ‘Bye, Bye, Bye’ (without missing a move) the night was truly complete. If you haven’t seen a Canadian’s game this year you might be out of luck… the season is almost over.
Of course I snapped a photo on my iPhone to share (with some quick editing I’d say its not too bad for a phone camera… ahh, technology). When the game was over I couldn’t help but be reminded that when baseball season ends, it only means one thing…. Fall is just around the corner (so bittersweet). *sigh
