Once again, I was lucky enough to second shoot with Matt Kennedy at a gorgeous wedding at Red Woods Golf Course in Langley. It was absolutely pouring on the morning of Jenelle’s big day (literally November-type downpour in the middle of July). Of course, the day went on, with or without the sunshine and the bride, Jenelle, was completely calm and cool. When I arrived at her house I walked into what looked like a busy salon. She had lots of bridesmaids (I think I counted 7!). The over sized kitchen table was covered in make-up and hair supplies, and the smell of hairspray had overtaken the entire house (for the record I love that smell… it reminds me of my high school cheerleading days). Once we got to Red Woods I discovered the chose chandeliers as table center pieces, and rhinestones scattered on the head table.. I was in love!
The rain just held off enough for the photos. Matt Kennedy is truly a photographer that goes above and beyond for his clients, you’ll notice he donated his flash umbrella to the bride and even held it for her so she could keep her dress out of the puddles, that’s service! The bride and groom made their grand entrance on a tractor, so cool! And he let her drive.. which was extra awesome! Once everyone was safe and dry in the tent the rain set in. Gotta love some good luck on your wedding day!
I think it took a day or two for me to come down off cloud nine from this wedding. In the process it became very clear to me: I need to have a princess wedding just like this one. It’s that simple. But more than the inspiration for my own wedding, I was really inspired for my photography. I want to see more and more weddings, and capture photos of them. I’m hooked! Here is a whole bunch of my photos from the big day!
